Event Description:
1.  Second Chance Jobs - 501C3   www.secondchancejobs.org
This organization is dedicated to assisting displaced workers, veterans, ex offenders, high school graduates and lower income residents.
We teach European Style Apprenticeships which combine the HBI PACT (Pre-Apprenticeship Certificate Training) Programs, our intensive 75 hour Winning Edge: Work Essential Skills Program, Safety Training, Apprenticeship Tracking and Coaches / Mentors.  We offer apprenticeship training in these categories:
Building Construction Technology
Electrical
Plumbing
HVAC
Masonry
Carpentry
Landscaping
Painting
Pest Management
These pre-apprenticeship programs last from 4-6 months.

Students go through a 3 - 5 week pre-qualification, 3 weeks of intensive academic and work essential skills training, then we have them interview
with employer partners.  If students have not completed their assignments, have poor attendance, are late or leave early, they are not eligible to work with our employer partners.
Once placed with an employer, our apprentices work with their employer partner for 4-6 months to complete their hands on tasks for certification.  During this time our company acts as a staffing company for the employer and assumes all risk and liability during the training.  The employer simply does work as normal and agrees to pay their apprentice $10-$12/hour through our staffing company with the lowest rate.  Upon graduation many apprentices are hired on FT with their employer partners and begin their full apprenticeship / journeyman training with our sister company, 327 Careers.  It is important to note that employers enjoy a no risk trial.  If an apprentice doesn't meet their expectations, we remove them immediately and seek an alternative apprentice for them.

The ex offenders we work with are non - violent.  We don't work with violent or sex offenders.  Most have been charged with petty drug crimes and are in need of a second chance.  These apprentices tend to make excellent employees as they've learned from their mistakes and are grateful for the opportunity.

2.  327 Careers    327careers.com
This is our education / high school and college graduate arm.  327 Careers also services our Second Chance Jobs graduates with full apprenticeship training.  The apprentices in this program are working towards their full registered apprenticeships or journeyman licensing with the state.  The apprenticeship training programs are the same as in the pre-apprenticeships.  They vary in length from 3-5 years.

3.  Future Builders Skills Challenge
Attached you will find a flyer for the Future Builders Skills Challenge that we would like your support with.  Our goal is for this to kick off next Spring 2021.  We will need sponsors, involved building and construction owners, political backing, donations, a venue to host the event and the local high school and technical schools to participate.  This event will be a catalyst to excite students about careers in the trades and apprenticeship training opportunities versus traditional college after graduation routes.   It will also support the demand in the local workforce for new and engaged employees.

What makes us the best training providers:
It is important to note that all our apprenticeships are recognized and certified through the Department of Labor.
Our entities do all the paperwork, academic training, work and life skills training, tracking of apprenticeship goals and we submit everything to the DOL for certification / licensing of our apprentices.   The employers we work with simply perform work as usual.  Most apprenticeships fail because employers don't have the time and resources to train employees.  They tend to be extremely busy and often overwhelmed with trying to keep up with the work they have.  This is why Second Chance Jobs and 327 Careers Apprenticeship Training Programs is the best solution. We take all the stress away and support employers with apprentices that make their business more productive and efficient.
