On April 25, 2017, Charleston Home Builders Association (CHBA), will host it’s quarterly General Membership Meeting at Crowne Plaza Charleston Airport—Conv Ctr, introducing it’s new Executive Officer, David Ellis, and award one student from Charleston County School of the Arts a $6,000 scholarship.
David Ellis, CAE joined the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association as Executive Vice President in May 2005. He has served 27 years as an executive with local building industry organizations. David has been recognized by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) as the best new Executive Officer in the nation and was honored in 2003 as NAHB’s Executive Officer of the Year. He is a past President of the Home Builders Association of Georgia Executive Officers Council and the NAHB Executive Officers Council. In 2014, he was recognized by the NAHB Professional Women in Building as the Executive Officer of the Year. He serves as a Board member for HomeAid Atlanta, the Housing Institute, the Atlanta Neighborhood Development Partnership, the Georgia Society of Association Executives and the Southface Energy Institute.
in collaboration with Southeastern Family Homes, the CHBA will award one local student from the Charleston County School of the Arts a $6,000 scholarship during the 1st annual Architectural Illustration Student Competition. 21 Junior and Senior art students submitted architectural renderings of one model floor plan, the Waterview, for an upcoming residential project—Whitney Lake on Johns Island. All 21 submissions will be on display at the event.
ners were selected based on quality of work and value it could add to the marketability of the home. 1st place will receive a $6,000 scholarship, honorary plaque, opportunity to complete five more renderings, use of their winning rendering in all marketing materials for the Whitney homes, and Summer internship with CHBA builder member Contract Exteriors. 2nd and 3rd place will both receive a $250 scholarship, honorary plaque and Summer internships with CHBA builder members Saltwater Homes and CK Contracting, respectively.
Sponsors such as Benjamin Moore Paint, along with several other local and private donations, will help make one of these Charleston student’s future a reality.
