Looking to fill a full-time position for a Structural Field Technician in our Charleston, S.C. office. Candidate should have experience in basic residential wood framed construction. This includes field investigative work for all aspects of residential construction including repairs, renovations, and new construction. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel. Starting salary is negotiable based on experience.
Qualifications:
· Basic Residential Construction Experience/Knowledge (rafters, joists, headers, beams, hangers, piers, piles, columns, etc.) (required)
· Site/Field Experience (required)
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (required)
· Proficiency in AutoCAD (not required but preferred)
· Structural Design Experience/Knowledge (not required but preferred)
· Strong technical skills and ability to multi-task when needed
· Ability to schedule and meet or converse with customers in a professional manner
· Candidate must be physically able to enter small spaces such as attics and crawl spaces, maneuver ladders and use a stud finder.
· Candidate must have reliable transportation (valid driver’s license)
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for creating and developing field notes/reports to be turned into construction documents
· Perform framing inspections to document as-built framing conditions for renovation projects
· Perform framing inspections to document compliance with sealed structural drawings
· Ability to work independently and in conjunction with others
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
